The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) organized a ceremony for honouring its ICT Division that received both the ISO27001 certification for Information Security Management Systems and the Network Middle East 2011 Innovation Award for the Best Wireless Implementation in the Middle East. The Network Innovation Awards 2011 included 21 categories that span end-user implementation, and company and product categories. Winners were judged by a team of industry judges, premier networking professionals and industry analysts who have worked and studied the region\'s IT adoption and usage over many years. \"I am proud of the success of our ICT staff who receive the most distinguished regional and international recognition for applying the ICT best practices and the latest solutions,\" said Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, ADEC Director General, during the ceremony held at Emirates Palace. \"This success comes in line with ADEC\'s vision and goals aiming at elevating ICT services to the highest international levels by adopting the technological developments that help provide accurate information and observe confidentiality and privacy. Article continues below Mohammed Younis, ADEC ICT Division Manager, said that the ISO27001 Certification awarded to ADEC by the British Standards Institute (BSI), will assure customers, employees, trading partners, and stakeholders that ADEC has world-class information security management systems. \"The certification recognizes ADEC\'s information security management system based on internationally accepted benchmarks and best practices. Over the past year, ADEC information security team has worked extremely hard towards achieving this goal,\" Mr. Younis added.
