Under the theme “ Sports and Investment”, the four-day  swimming competitions for all education stages at the  prestigious Schools Olympic Program (QOP) 2012-2013 were successfully concluded at Hamad bin Jassim Aquatics complex on Thursday. Some 400 students representing four educational stages took part in the swimming competitions. Around 80 students from 29 schools participated in level one competition ,  91 students from 36 schools in level two, 134 students from 41 preparatory schools engaged in the event as 83 students from 27 secondary schools also took part. In Thursday’s competitions, students competed in multiple swimming classes , including 25 m freestyle, 25 m breaststroke, 25 m backstroke, 50  m butterfly and 200 m individual event. Mr. Ibraheem Al Rumaihi, the Director of SOP Swimming competitions appreciated the student strong performance and lauded the overwhelming response from schools towards this dazzling game. In another sport scene, Abi Ayoub Al Ansari school and Al Duhail schools confidently booked  places in the final match of Handball competition (boys) of the School Olympic Program (SOP) 2012-2013 under the theme “ Sports and Investment” on Thursday. Abi Ayoub Al Ansari school reached the final , following their easy 8-1 victory over Juaan bin Jassem school , as Al Duhail cruised their way to the final after defeating Al Furqan school 6-2.
