Nicki Minaj took to Twitter on Tuesday to criticize MTV's alleged body shaming attitude she thinks is keeping her from a Video Music Awards (VMA) nomination.
Minaj initially tweeted her disappointment over her "Anaconda" music video not being nominated for an award, saying if she were "a different 'kind' of artist, Anacaonda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well."
Twitter fans replied with links to images that showed the video's Internet popularity, and added the video broke the VEVO record for most views.
Taylor Swift later tweeted to Minaj, saying that Swift has done nothing but love and support her and it was unlike Minaj to "pit women against each other." Confused, Minaj replied to Swift saying she hadn't written anything about her and added that she should speak on the matter. Minaj added that "black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it."
