The Hague - WAM
The UAE is participating in the Global Conference on CyberSpace 2015 (GCCS 2015) which is taking place in The Hague on 16-16 April.
The UAE's participation in the fourth international cyberspace conference is part of its smart-government efforts to provide protection from cybercrime.
Abdullah bin Mohammed Saeed Ghobash, Minister of State, is leading a high-level UAE delegation which includes Abdullah Hamdan Al Naqbi, Ambassador to The Netherlands, Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Director-General of the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA), cyber experts and officials from the National Electronic Security Authority and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte opened the conference in the presence of a host of representatives of states, international and regional organisations, academicians and experts.
In the two-day conference, Participants will address topics such as the privacy, cybercrime, the latest developments in cybersecurity, ways of enhancing international cybersecurity to improve international peace and security, and the role of the internet in improving social welfare and economic growth.
GCCS 2015 builds on the previous three editions of conference held in London (2011), Brussels (2012) and Seoul (2013).
