The sixth Kuwait Info Security Forum and the third Arabian Social Media Forum ended here on Thursday by making a number of crucial recommendations on the best ways to use the internet. In a statement to KUNA, Khalid Al-Enizi of the Central Agency for Information Technology told KUNA that information security is attainable through laying down realistic solutions that prevent computer hacking and information theft, which could easily jeapordize the privacy of internet users. He emphasized that the forums recommended that the government and other entities should have some employees be trained in all aspects of safeguarding information and dealing with the negative influence of abusing the use of social networks. He further noted that there should be a national strategy aimed at protecting information technology systems and users of such systems. Moreover, he saw good reason to have all government ministries and agencies establish their own information security apparatuses to prevent the misuse of electronic data. A major recommendation by the forums today, he said, was to engender laws punishing cyber crimes
