The GCC Commercial Arbitration Center signed an agreement on the establishment of the new website to be launched at the beginning of next year, 2014, which will be accompanied with the launch of interactive accounts on social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Public relations specialist at the Center, Widad Al Abdullah said that the project would be a quantum leap in communication, where it would display the Center’s news, and its work both in Arabic and English, taking into consideration that the Center doesn’t have a website in English at the present time. Widad Al Abdullah added that the website comes in accordance with the vision and the new strategic objectives of the Center, which focus on spreading and expanding its activity at the regional level and moving from the Gulf sphere to the world’s level. Widad Al Abdullah said that the website is a part of the first phase of developing the information technology system at the Center, which was preceded by a preliminary stage known in the administrative sciences with documentation, namely documenting what is available now, and what is aspired to be attained, and then a matching comparison is carried out between both to know about the amount of achievement. Widad Al Abdullah highlighted that the project has witnessed some delays due to that the company implementing the project took a time to get fully informed on all the activities of the Center through communication with the departments at the Center. Widad Al Abdullah added that the administration of the Center, in a step to avoid the delay caused by lack of information and data needed by the companies of the websites on the facility, has deliberately prepared such information in Arabic and English before signing the agreement. Widad Al Abdullah pointed out that the website would be in Arabic and English, and will include news about the Center, as well as the easiness to log on and attain the information related to the regulations of the Center, and sample forms of the services are provided by the website, like the form of requesting arbitration with archive papers that are displayed for the first time. The website will also provide a brief on all the rules of arbitration, and the related international conventions, the corporate commercial laws, the civil and commercial pleadings and substantiation in the GCC countries, and before recording any dispute, parties can know about the cost of administrative arbitration of the Center and the fees of the arbitral tribunal.
