The Egyptian mission in Shanghai, China created an account on China's largest chat service, Weibo.

In a statement on Saturday, the Egyptian foreign ministry said the new account - http:// weibo.com/egyptianconsulate - aims to lure more Chinese tourists to Egypt.

Weibo, akin to Twitter and Facebook in China, has more than 500 million users.
