Bahraini public prosecution

Public Prosecution's Attorney General, Nayef Yusuf, announced that the Public Prosecution has received a notification from the Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs and Endowments and Chairman of High Election Committee, concerning a member of a political society, who had posted a tweet that affected the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
Attorney General added that the accused, in his tweet, alleged that he had paid money to some of the candidates to encourage them to run for November elections, but the accused did not provide evidence to support his alleged claim in regard to political money.
Public Prosecution interrogated the suspect who admitted that he had posted the tweet, justifying that he was criticizing a situation he had heard from a friend about a candidate who had accepted money to run for the elections.
Public Prosecution ordered the release of the accused, and also ordered to summon the accused's friend and his wife to substantiate his statement, in order to finalize investigations into the case.
