Howard Stern and Beth Stern

Howard Stern revealed Wednesday that he intends on leaving the judge's chair on America's Got Talent.

The television personality and radio host shared the news via his SiriusXM radio show that he will not return for the NBC competition's next season. "I told them, this is my last season," he said.

"I am going though my own career evaluation right now. I'm just too [expletive] busy." Deadline reports that the self-proclaimed "king of media" was given a "great opportunity" in TV.

Stern, 61, has appeared as a judge on America's Got Talent for four seasons.

While mentioning who could possibly replace his charismatic judgeship, Stern dropped Simon Cowell's name into the mix. Cowell is a judge on the British version of the show, "He would be good at it," Stern said.

When Stern joined the show in 2012, NBC reportedly paid him $15 million a season and initially accommodated him by moving the set to New York from California so he could continue airing The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM.
