Kuwait - KUNA
A short documentary film on a well-beloved Kuwaiti TV personality known primarily for her children's programs on Radio and TV was shown in her honor, at a school named after her, here on Wednesday.
Titled A Woman from the Beautiful Past, the film follows the career of Anisa Mohammad Ja'afar in children's programs heard and shown on state radio and TV channels for several decades. It includes numerous citations for the admirable work she had done in her field of interest by people who were contemporary to that work.
Following showing of the documentary in the presence of Anisa, who was well-known by her show business moniker Mama Anisa, a number of officials of the school named after today's honoree spoke highly of her and her long and endearing career, particularly on TV when she hosted for decades a children's program.
Among those who applaud her in the documentary is Governor of Al-Ahmadi Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khalid Al-Sabah (the school named after her is located in the governorate of Al-Ahmadi) who says that Mama Anisa is a Kuwaiti icon whose name will remain burnished in the memories of many generations of Kuwaitis weaned on her radio and TV children's shows.
The documentary is a collective effort on the part of a number of teachers at the primary school of Mama Anisa in the suburb of Abu Helaifa in the governorate of Al-Ahmadi, headed by the script writer and director Nawal Al-Obaidan.
