Peter Cook to be named Pentagon press secretary

Veteran Bloomberg Television correspondent Peter C. Cook will become the Pentagon’s new press secretary, according to The Washington Post.

Cook will take the job in July. He will be a key figure in explaining the Obama administration’s position on military operations across the globe.

Cook most recently worked as Bloomberg Television’s chief Washington correspondent. He previously covered the Pentagon for NBC News and MSNBC. He is a graduate of Duke University and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
