Christine Teigen

Christine Teigen announced she's quitting Twitter after receiving a slew of hateful messages in reaction to a post she made about the shooting on Parliament Hill in Canada on Wednesday.
The model said her post was meant to be a dig at American gun-control laws, but some didn't see it that way.
"Active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in america, wednesday," she wrote.
Teigen immediately received a barrage of negative responses to her tweet.
"Sorry you don't understand that is a knock at america and our issues with gun control," she tweeted in response. "No one in minimizing the Ottawa shooting."
She retweeted a few of the more stinging messages she got, some of which were filled with violent and explicit language, including one who hoped for someone to murder Teigen's husband.
"You should probably stick to having your picture taken for a living," one person wrote.
"The temperature where you are or your IQ, which one is higher?" another said.
By Thursday, Teigen said she was through with Twitter, though not enough to shut down her account entirely.
"I feel sick. Bye Twitter. Taking my talents to instagram," she wrote.
