The world entertainment content market (MIPCOM 2011) kicked off here, Monday, with the Gulf Cooperation Council\'s Joint Programming Institution strongly present, seeking to market media of cultural as well as entertainment stress and tone, for the fifth year. The GCC institution\'s Executive Director Abdelmihsin Al-Bannai told KUNA the GCC is greatly interested in such international venues, and keen to stress its shared identity and objectives through productions in different media. The pavilion this time around, presenting production by both the institution and the GCC Radio and Television Union, is hoping to realize a great success. This is inspired by the good demand for cultural productions, documentaries, and educational programs marketed in previous years, he said. The cooperation among GCC production bodies and institutions has a great benefit in terms of enhancing product quality and, therefore, appeal and guarantees good chances upon marketing at such events as this one in Cannes. The executive seized the opportunity and remarked upon a resumption of one of the most successful and popular of the institutions productions, the GCC version of Open Sesame, and said plans for this project are all progressing smoothly on schedule, as agreed in cooperation with the Sesame Workshop, formerly known as the Children\'s Television Workshop (CTW). Our Cannes agenda, he added, includes a seminar on this specific project. The MIPCOM 2011 continues till October 8, with producers, marketers, and corporations from over 175 countries vying for attention and for actual sales.
