Cairo - Arab Today
Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communication sector of the Arab League, Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, has stressed the importance of the role of electronic media (e-media) for rapid information, exchange of expertise and awareness to confront terrorism.
This came during opening session of the 11th meeting of the Arab Information Committee of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Sunday.
Ghazaleh cited importance of the decision of the Arab foreign ministers banning Iran-funded TV channels from broadcasting on Arab satellites as they constitute a threat to Arab national security by provoking sectarian and ethnic seditious strife.
The session witnessed the participation of various member states' delegations.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Othman, Information Technology (IT) Supervisor at the Ministry of Culture and Information led the Kingdom's delegation to the meetings, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
