GMC’s three-row people mover has arrived at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show with new looks and some new tech.The Acadia SUV has remained largely unchanged since it came out in 2007. The three-row people-mover from GMC has been refreshed and showed up at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show packing a host of new technologies and some updated looks.In terms of motivation, the 2013 GMC Acadia now packs an upgraded 3.6-liter V6 engine with 288hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The engine is coupled with a revised Hydra-matic six-speed automatic transmission.\"With an award-winning combination of space, capability and fuel-efficiency, Acadia epitomizes GMC\'s \'never say never\' attitude,\" said Tony DiSalle, U.S. vice president of GMC Marketing.\"For 2013, our engineers and designers applied that same attitude to developing the new Acadia.\"That rings true for the face-lifted SUV, which now features an array of new technology. It features the industry\'s first front-centered airbag, Rear Cross Traffic Alert system and the Side Blind Zone Alert system.The Acadia SLT model features aluminum touches on the doors, instrument panel and center console. Standard on the interior are an red ambient light, GMC\'s Color Touch Radio with Bluetooth connectivity and connecting devices along with a back-up camera. Soft-touch materials with French stitching are also equipped for a bit of added luxury.In terms of exterior styling, the 2013 GMC Acadia features a new front-end with a three-bar grille, upright design and some LED lights. Sitting on a set of either 18-, 19- or 20-inch wheels, the refreshed model is currently on display at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.
