Ford has opened up a world of possibilities today, as the online configurator for the 2013 Ford Fusion sedan came online. The online tool will allow you to dream the ideal midsize sedan that you want to put in your driveway, but won’t let you judge if you want to buy it or not, as there is no official pricing information. As the configurator shows, the 2013 Ford Fusion will launch this fall in three different trims - S, SE and Titanium. As a US model, the non-hybrid Fusion will be offered with a choice of three gasoline engines, starting with the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 170 horsepower. But Ford has place a high emphasis on fuel economy and so the rest of the range is all turbocharged. As you can plainly see, the hybrid model will be sold as a separate trim level. The newly introduced 1.6-liter EcoBoost will only be available with a six-speed manual transmission and should produce 179 horsepower, while the more powerful 2.0-liter EcoBoost makes 237 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The 1.6 EcoBoost model will deliver best in class economy figures of 26 mpg city and 37 mpg highway. Only the Titanium model comes as standard with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost, 18-inch wheels and other goodies to set the Fusion apart.
