Here’s some fabulously exciting news for Bimmer fans. Barely few hours after images of the long awaited 2012 BMW M5 leaked onto the internet, BMW has revealed the official details. It looks exactly like the muscular concept from Shanghai earlier this year, so the 20in rims, performance-oriented body kit including and that aggressive face remains while under the bonnet sits BMW’s new twin-turbo S63 motor making 552bhp – 53 more than the old E60 M5’s naturally aspirated V10. And with 680Nm of tyre melting torque and 0-100kph over in 4.4seconds, the new M5 is the quicker than the current Audi RS6, Jag XF-R, and only loses to the Cadillac CTS-V Saloon. BMW says emissions have been reduced by 25 per cent compared to the outgoing model’s V10. A seven-speed DCT will be available while US customers can also get a manual, like it offered for the new 6 Series. It also features active M-differential with torque vectoring while the M-Drivers-Package increases the top speed from 250kph to 305kph.
