Jeep is adding a Wrangler Unlimited model to the Altitude lineup. It will join the Patriot, Compass and Grand Cherokee Altitude models in showrooms next month. The Altitude name won a vote on Jeep\'s Facebook page and beat out names such as Midnight and Obsidian for the blacked-out trim package. The Wrangler Unlimited Altitude comes with a body-colored hardtop, black-painted, five-spoke aluminum wheels, a black Mopar fuel-fill door, a matte-black Jeep logo and a black tone-on-tone hood graphic. Inside, the Altitude model has black leather seats with red accent stitching. Other red accents appear on the doors, armrests, mats and steering wheel. Vent rings, steering-wheel spokes, door pulls and grab handles are all done in black. “With a production run of only 4,500 units, we expect the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude to sell out very quickly,” said Mike Manley, president and CEO of the Jeep brand. The Altitude will come in four colors: deep cherry red, black, bright white and bright silver metallic. All Unlimited models use Chrysler\'s 3.6-liter, 285-hp V6 for power. It will arrive with a $34,640 starting price, including $900 destination.
