PRO Light – Thursday night’s round seven found points leader Andrew Caddell’s Dodge Ram dominant, but Nissan Frontier pilots Casey Currie and Brad Lovell grabbed second and third place finishes to put Nissan on both sides of the podium. Currie has been racing in the Lucas Oil Series, so his Traxxas TORC debut was a successful one. Lovell drove his way through the pack after starting the race in 7th. Rookie driver Raphael Navarro debuted the Hord Racing prepared Nissan Frontier and finished 9th. In Friday night’s round eight, Casey Currie proved he can be a force to be reckoned with by charging into the lead from his third starting spot on lap 1, then held on to outduel points leader Andrew Caddell for the win. Brad Lovell started mid-pack and found his pace suffered from continuous contact with a tight pack of trucks. To make matters worse, his Nissan Frontier had a tire puncture that forced a pit stop. Lovell persevered as always, however, and managed a respectable 4th place finish. Raphael Navarro, starting 9th in only his second short track truck race, was able to move up to 6th by the checkered flag in the Hord Racing Nissan Frontier. PRO 2wd – Thursday night was one round the ultra consistent points leader would rather forget. Hord was running strong and moving up in the very competitive field when something broke in his suspension, leaving the truck almost undriveable for the rest of the race. The points leader was forced to take an 11th place finish, giving up the points lead to race winner Rob MacCachren in his Dodge Ram. Friday night proved to be much better for Chad Hord. Due to his poor finish the night before, Chad was forced to start in 11thposition is a star studded field of drivers. Worse yet, a bad start sent the former champ all the way back to last place shortly after the green flag dropped. Steadily through the race, Hord picked off places and moved up. By the end of the race, Hord got by the Dodge of pole sitter Bryce Menzes and set his sights on the race leader MacCachren. Time ran out on that pursuit and Hord had to settle for 2nd place for the race and in the PRO 2wd points standings with six rounds left. From Nissanglobal
