A 5.7-magnitude quake hit the Arctic Ocean on Friday, Russia\'s news agency (Iter-Tass) reported. The epicenter of the quake which was located at a depth of ten km, is estimated at 7-7,5, the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences said. The nearest residential site to the quake is the city of Norilsk, Russia, 1,542 km away from the epicenter. The quake was recorded in the area of the underwater Gakkel Ridge, the length of which is more than 1,000 km. There has been no word on losses or injuries, however.
