Killing of birds

Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS) called for executing the law of prohibiting birds hunting and brining those involved to justice, to protect immigrating and settling birds in Kuwait.
A number of flamingo birds were killed in one of the country's natural reserves, said the society's birds monitoring and protection team in a statement on Wednesday.
Thousands of birds of different species including endangered ones have been killed, said the team, calling on officials in charge to take action to end "the slaughter," especially after the new environment protection law was issued.
The random killing of birds is condemned and prohibited by both Islam and the international law, the statement noted. These actions would affect the environmental balance and the immigration process of these creatures, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the team said the society will cooperate with officials to protect natural reserves, calling on older hunters to bring awareness to youth about the hazards of random killings of birds.
