Hurricane Emilia, well off Baja California, weakened Tuesday night but remained a Category 2 storm, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said. In its 11 p.m. EDT advisory, the center said Emilia was about 695 miles south-southwest of Baja California with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph. The storm was moving west-northwest at 12 mph and was expected to follow that general motion for the next couple of days as it gradually weakens. No coastal watches or warnings were posted.
