Conducts studies on waste-to-energy projects

Sohag Governor Ayman Abdel Monem held a meeting Wednesday with a delegation of experts from South Korea to discuss establishing new projects to generate energy in the form of electricity from the primary treatment of waste.

The delegation's visit to Sohag came as part of a memorandum of understanding signed with the International Cooperation Ministry.

According to the governor's scientific advisor Ahmed Aziz, the delegation would tour the sites set for the projects to be established in the governorate.

The Korean experts would pay more visits to Sohag over the next period to choose the suitable site for the project, Aziz said.

The project is planned to be funded via a grant from Suel to Cairo, he added.
