EU Ambassador to Egypt James Moran opened on Wednesday four solar power plants in Marsa Matrouh. 

The four solar power plants are located in Matrouh City Hall, Matrouh general library, Matrouh general hospital and Matrouh experimental school. 

The project aims to use renewable energy in the state-owned buildings in the governorate. 

In statements on Wednesday, the ambassador said that Egypt owns great capabilities to generate renewable energy. 

The EU will continue to support renewable energy in Egypt, he affirmed, noting that the EU allocates about one billion dollars to support this approach in Egypt.
