Neighborhood destroyed by the tornado.

At least four tornadoes swept through east-central Illinois Friday evening, bringing rains to the region as well as Chicago.

Showers and thunderstorms scattered throughout Illinois Friday evening, beating a cold front that brought cooler and drier air to the region. Chicago rained heavily Friday night. After the rain, the highest temperature on Saturday in Chicago dropped to 23 degrees, and is expected to remain around the level in the following week.

There were no reports of serious injuries following the tornadoes yet, but properties damages have been reported near the Champaign County villages of Sidney and Homer. A 116-year-old farmhouse has been destroyed there, Chicago Tribune reported.
