Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi is due to open on Monday an EU-sponsored conference termed "Water scarcity: Challenges and Opportunities".
During the two-day event, experts are expected to discuss the latest scientific and practical programs to face water scarcity challenges.
Prospects of boosting Egyptian-European investments in the water sector will also be tackled.
The EU supports institutional reforms in Egypt's water sector with about EUR 500 million.
