Sudanese minister Badr-Eddin Mahmoud Abbas

The Minister of Finance and National Economy Badr-Eddin Mahmoud Abbas has underlined his ministry's support to the development projects at Kassala State, giving directives to include them in the general budget.
He urged the state to benefit from the flood waters to increase the cultivated area in the state through inclusion of private sector in the agricultural process, asking the state to take advantage from the water harvest project through preparing a plan to be enshrined into the federal water harvest projects being implemented by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Ministry of Electricity and Water Resources, referring to the need for coordination between the state and Customs Administration to combat avoidance of customs.
Wali (governor) of Kassala State Mohamed Yousuf Adam, for his part, acquainted the Minister of Finance with the process of taming the Gash River, return it to its natural course and taking advantage of the water in the cultivation of crops.
Adam reviewed the urgent plan for the rehabilitation of the Gash. He said that 1,400 projects benefit from the electricity that is being implemented through the Eastern Sudan Reconstruction and Development Fund, beside rehabilitation Halfa Agricultural Scheme and Gash Development Project.
