Asil (purebred) Arabian horses are a model in competence, beauty and stamina as they leave a great influence on their breeders and lovers due to their behavior and the attributes distinguishing them from other animals such as smartness, loyalty and the slender body. Syria is the best place in the whole world to purchase true Arabian blood horses. Pure Arabian horse is a horse registered in any of the purebred Arabian registries of the world, or a Bedouin bred or desert bred, the desert being that of Arabia or of Syria. The Syrian youths are highly interested in equitation such as equestrian Osama Hassoun, 14 years old, who won the Republic Show Jumping Championship for Teens in 2011. Osama says that he rides horses since he was eight years old as his father is a coach at Damascus Equestrian Club, adding that his 16-year-old brother came in the first place in al-Wafaa Equestrian Championship in 2011. He underlined the importance of the constant and regular training to achieve the hoped-for success along with paying attention to completing the academic study as the success must be integrated in all of the life spheres. Syrian youths find that the Arabian horses represent their aspirations in a future which embraces a lot of the supreme values such as success, self-confidence and determination to achieve what they aspire for in the life. The Arabian horses receive great attention by the bodies concerned in Syria which is considered a habitat for the Arabian horses that represent courage, generosity and originality of the famous tribes and clans in the Syrian Badia (Semi-desert). Director of Horses Office at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohammad al-Wadi said that the richest people in the world compete in possessing the Arabian horses bred in Syria. He added that the Ministry has taken significant measures to protect the purebred Arabian horses and to encourage their breeding such as verifying their lineages. He indicated that the Ministry has also established Martyr Bassel al-Assad Center for Asil Arabian Horses which encompasses 180 purebred Arabian horses, adding that the Center holds training and qualification courses to prepare specialized technical cadres in the domain of equine medicine. The Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Equestrian Federation also organizes more than seven equestrian competitions, in addition to holding other competitions in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Horse Association (SAHA).
