An Environment Ministry official denied reports about the presence of sharks in the sea coast extending from Alexandria to Matrouh cities.

Head of nature reserves of the northern area Mohamed el Essawi said a complete survey was conducted in the area and no citizens have reported seeing sharks in the sea.

For his part, Chairman of the Rescue and Environmental Protection Society Hassan el Tayyeb confirmed that the coast was completely safe.
