People in Kuwait have felt a tremor a while ago on Sunday, Kuwait National Seismic Network (KNSN) confirmed.

State news agency, KUNA, quoted a KNSN statement as saying the magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck near Iran-Iraq borders.

It hit 200 kilometres north east of capital Baghdad, the statement added.
