Kuwait - KUNA
The Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS) has urged hunters to abstain from shooting migrating birds passing through the country for breeding season in the north.
Rashed Al-Hajji, a member of the society team tasked with monitoring birds, urged in remarks KUNA citizens, namely those who use guns or set up traps, to abstain from targeting the migrating birds, now landing in Kuwait in large numbers.
Birds that are caught in traps get disoriented and lose track of their flight back route. Those taken home may die due to nutrition change.
