Khartoum - Arab Today
Former Sudanese irrigation minister Kamal Ali asked the government of Khartoum to review its stance towards the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
Reports revealed that the new dam would be very risky, noting that the decline in the Nile's flood level this year was a clear practical and scientific evidence of such risks, Sudan Tribune quoted the former minister as saying on Wednesday.
The minister said he briefed, two years ago, all Sudanese authorities concerned with the file on the risks of the dam, especially with a storage capacity of 74 billion cubic meters, adding that he advised them to accept only an 11-storage capacity.
