Cairo - MENA
Irrigation Minister and Water Resources Hossam Moghazy left Friday for Khartoum to take part in extra-ordinary meetings of water ministers of Nile Basin countries.
It is the first participation by Egypt in such meetings since the freezing of its membership and activities after most of the Nile Basin countries signed the Entebbe Agreement, which harmed Egypt's historic rights in the Nile waters.
The three-day meetings are scheduled to kick off Saturday.
In statements to MENA, Moghazy said Egypt had agreed to take part in the meetings to introduce its vision aimed at reaching an understanding among all member states on controversial points of the Entebbe Agreement.
Moghazy dismissed the possibility that Egypt would sign the agreement with in its shape.
