The Head of the Ozone Layer Department at the Environment Ministry Ezzat Louis said that the ministry exerts its utmost effort to preserve the ozone layer.
He underlined that the ministry curbs using the chemical materials that harm the layer especially that used in air conditions, cars and trains.
Louis told MENA that the ministry tries to limit the use of some substances that cause global warming.
He further announced that there are conventions that work on protecting the ozone layer such as the Vienna Agreement, Montreal Protocol, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and Kyoto Protocol.
These protocols stipulate decreasing the use of chemicals that cause the greenhouse phenomenon.
Louis reiterated that the world marked recently the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer where Egypt celebrated the 30th anniversary of inking Vienna Agreement.
