Egypt's Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) has warned of buying products from unknown sources especially water as many people rushed to buy bottled water after authorities said a barge carrying phosphate sank in the Nile.
In statements to MENA Saturday, Head of the CPA Atef Yaqoub said measures have been taken to prevent disapproved bottled water from infiltrating the market.
"We have contacted major water bottling companies to increase their production," he noted.
On Tuesday, a barge carrying 500 tons of phosphate capsized in Upper Egypt’s Qena.
