Khartoum - MENA
Egypt's Agriculture Minister Salah Helal and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi on Saturday arrived in Sudan's Blue Nile state, 800 km away from the capital Khartoum.
The senior Egyptian officials are on a three day official visit to Sudan to activate the integration projects and explore new projects in various fields of developing the water and agricultural resources.
The two ministers were received by Governor of the Blue Nile state Hussein Yassin Hamad and other senior officials.
In statements, the state's governor hailed as "historic" the visit.
"It opens new horizons of close cooperation and full partnership between the two countries," he stressed.
He voiced appreciation for the swift response of the Egyptian government to activate the outcome of meetings of the board of the Sudanese-Egyptian company, which were held in Khartoum in June.
He also pointed out to the company's general assembly meetings, which were held in Cairo on July 11-12.
The visit confirms the Egyptian and Sudanese sincere intentions to achieve the agricultural integrity and to revive a project to allocate 100 feddans in the state to cultivate some strategic crops needed by the two countries, he said.
