The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) carried out coastal, naval and air scanning of Ras Gharib area after an oil slick was discovered there. No pollution was detected.
Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy gave directives to the regional branch of Hurghada apparatus and Red Sea reserves to examine the oil slick that appeared in Ras Gharib coast and make sure that there is no pollution.
This came after the central operation chamber in the ministry received a notification about the presence of an oil slick in Ras Gharib.
