Egypt has developed new seeds for upping wheat production and improving Egyptian cotton, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation said.

In a report on 2015 achievements, the ministry said Egypt 1 and Egypt 2 wheat seeds will mark a 30 erdab rise per feddan.

The ministry seeks to tap new markets in the US, Japan and Russia for the Egyptian agricultural products to secure hard currency.

Meanwhile, the ministry noted that it secured foodstuffs at its outlets at a 30 percent low price.
