DoT participates in IRF Middle East and North Africa Regional Congress

The Department of Transport, DoT, in Abu Dhabi is participating in the IRF Middle East and North Africa Regional Congress and Exhibition in Dubai, which is being attended by a number of government and semi-government entities from the transportation field.

DoT is presenting its main initiatives and projects in roads and infrastructures at the exhibition. Also, the delegation is promoting the World Road Congress that will be hosted by Abu Dhabi in 2019.

The World Road Congress is expected to be attended by 7,000 delegates and representatives of the participating countries. DoT, through its current participation at the exhibition, will seize the opportunity to exchange experience and information with other entities that are concerned with surface transport all over the world.

By pursuing such an interaction between DoT and the organisers and participants of the event, the department will be well prepared to host the World Road Congress in Abu Dhabi in 2019. The event will emphasise the position of Abu Dhabi and the UAE globally, highlighting its ability to organise and attract main world events and congresses.

DoT’s delegation is participating in many discussions and addressing the best practices and innovations in the IRF Middle East and Africa Regional Congress such as smart cities, road safety designs, intelligent transport systems, assets and sidewalks management, as well as partnership and finance management.
