DEWA honours partners, sponsors and supporting organisations

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has honoured the partners, sponsors, and supporting organisations of the 19th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition, WETEX 2017, at a gala dinner held yesterday at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

WETEX 2017, which is organised by DEWA, from 23rd to 25th October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, DICEC, comes under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of DEWA.

The event was attended by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and the Founder and Chairman of WETEX, senior officials at DEWA, a number of dignitaries, decision makers, senior public and private officials, media partners, in addition to representatives of the sponsoring and supporting bodies and exhibitors.

In his speech, Al Tayer expressed his appreciation for the efforts of partners from the public and private sectors, sponsors and supporting organisations from all over the world.

He also hailed the role of the media in supporting the vision and mission of the exhibition, saying, "I am honoured to welcome you all as we celebrate a long journey full of achievements and success over the last 19 years now, during which we’ve succeeded in joining up and consolidating global efforts to capitalise on innovations and technological advancements in the water and electricity sectors, promoting environmental safety and driving regional and global sustainability. Today, we celebrate together the success of the 19th WETEX, which is being organised by DEWA under the umbrella of the 4th Green Week, in conjunction with the 2nd Dubai Solar Show and the 4th World Green Economy Summit 2017."

Al Tayer noted that the 19th WETEX has drawn the participation of over 2,000 exhibitors from 50 countries, and more than 75 sponsors, with an estimated 30,000 visitors over three days.
