His Majesty the King's Personal Representative His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa attended the opening ceremony, which was held at Al-Areen Wildlife and Reserve Park.
The First Lady lauded The Gulf Petrochemicals Industries Company(GPIC), which funded the park, for setting a national model in assuming social responsibility, noting its crucial contribution as one of the first firms to support the development of the agricultural sector in Bahrain.
She cited GPIC-funded initiative to set up the Princess Sabeeka Garden for Aromatic Plants and support local farmers and stressed its participation in the annual Bahrain International Garden Show(BIGS), urging other private firms to follow suit.
