Minister Khaled Fahmi

Arab environment ministers met here Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change summit to coordinate stances regarding topics on the agenda of the summit.
The Arab stance is still the same, said Egypt's Khaled Fahmi, noting that Arab countries are seeking to overcome the negative impacts of climate change. That's a top priority of the Arab group, Fahmi said in a statement.
Developed countries should live up to their responsibilities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming, the minister stressed.
It is developed countries that were behind those emissions in the first place, the minister noted.
Developed countries should also assist developing states, including Arabs, with the finances, technology and skills, Fahmi further said.
