The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, ADM, has launched the fourth awareness campaign "Our Parks" organised by the municipality's Community Services Division, targeting students of public and private schools. The move is in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Education Council, Abu Dhabi Community Police, and the Abu Dhabi Waste Management Centre. Abdullah Nasir Al Junaibi, Director of Community Services Division, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, said, "The launch of the awareness campaign among students of Cycle 1 schools, is an exercise targeting about 4,000 students in a bid to inculcate positive attitudes in participating students. Four public and four private schools have been selected in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Education Council and the timing has been fixed to match the start of the second academic term in the first week of January, continuing through to mid-March. "The fourth campaign is held in the context of Abu Dhabi City Municipality's strategy and initiative aimed at raising the awareness and communal participation in protecting public facilities, parks and gardens with the ultimate objective of imparting positive behavioural values and nurturing the culture of teaming with educational institutions in protecting parks and utilising them in sports, cultural, educational and recreational activities and events," noted Al Junaibi. He further added that five competitions will be held to motivate students to interact and take part in the campaign. The contests include designing an awareness brochure, conducting the best public park design contest, park photo contest, and the best park hand-drawn portrait contest, in addition to a contest for preparing a visual presentation serving the objectives of the campaign. In the initial phase of the contests, submissions will be judged at school levels separately and winners will be honoured. In the second phase, a specialist panel will be set up to assess school submissions where the first three finishers of each contest will be rewarded.
