Up to 119.181 million cubic meters of water-saturated sand have been dredged so far in the Suez Canal Development Project.
As many as 35 dredgers are working in the project, Wagdy Zaki, executive director of the dredging works of the new Suez Canal project told MENA.
The daily dredging rate stands at about 1.355 million cubic meters, he said.
The project was funded through granting investment certificates to Egyptians with 12% returns, and in eight days, more than 60 billion pounds were collected.
