Joel Robuchon has announced plans to open a new 50-seat restaurant in partnership with French wine magnate Bernard Magrez by early next year. It’s a collaboration that could be described as an alliance of French titans: one is the holder of 26 Michelin stars and boasts a restaurant empire that spans the world, the other a wine mogul who owns four grands crus including Chateau La Tour Carnet, Chateau Pape Clement, Chateau Fombrauge and Clos Haut-Peyraguey. According to Le Figaro, the new restaurant will be built across from L’Institut Culturel Bernard Magrez, an arts and culture center in Bordeaux, and will focus on regional, Bordelais cuisine. It will also include seven hotel suites. The new restaurant is slated to open January 2014. Meanwhile, another highly anticipated restaurant opening from French chefs include father and son duo Michel and Sebastien Bras, who plan to open a gourmet sandwich shop Capucin signé Bras in Toulouse this fall.
