Guests visit abbey at LeDomaine

The winery and its hotel, a converted 12th-century abbey in Spain, are taking another step forward into the 21st century. Guests can now put on the famous wearable computer while visiting the vineyards and historic site.
Located within Spain's Douro wine country, the Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine, also known as simply LeDomaine, now places eight Google Glass headsets at the disposal of its guests. During a tour of the abbey and its surroundings, the device allows its wearer to take photos and videos and share them on social networks, to look up information on the site and the region or simply to make phone calls and surf the web.
Any photos taken with Google Glass are saved to a memory card that guests can take home at the end of their stay.
Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine reopened in 2012 after a complete renovation, and in 2013 the property joined the prestigious Relais & Châteaux network. LeDomaine can be reached from Madrid by car or train in around two hours.
Currently, the property's stables are being renovated and converted into eight luxury suites and a large spa. These new amenities are expected to open before the end of 2014.
