Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has confirmed that the Hyatt Regency Incheon will be rebranded as the Grand Hyatt Incheon, following the opening of its new West Tower on 1 September 2014.
Located close to South Korea’s main international gateway, Incheon International Airport, the rebadged hotel will offer a total of 1,022 rooms, making it the largest Hyatt hotel outside North America.
Adding to the existing 522 rooms in the East Tower, the new West Tower extension offers an extra 500 rooms, with the two towers connected by a sky bridge. The West Tower will also include a range of apartment-style rooms designed for long-stay guests, plus a new 1,250m² ballroom, a restaurant, lounge, two swimming pools and children’s play area.
“We are very excited for the rebranding of the existing Hyatt Regency Incheon to our Grand Hyatt brand,” said Ratnesh Verma, Hyatt’s senior vice president of real estate & development for Asia Pacific.
“The hotel, including the addition of a new tower, will further solidify our brand presence in this key gateway market. With its dramatic meeting facilities, large number of rooms and its proximity to the airport, the expanded hotel will offer a unique destination within Asia that will be attractive to meeting and group business.”
Following the rebranding, Hyatt will undertake an 18-month renovation of the East Tower.
The rebranded hotel will be the 41st hotel to join the Grand Hyatt brand and the second Grand Hyatt hotel located in South Korea, following the Grand Hyatt Seoul.
