Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has unveiled a new serviced apartment brand with projects already underway.
The new brand, named Cassia, will offer one and two-bed apartments for both short and long-term stays ranging from 35 square metres to 55 square metres in size.
Each development will have a pool, gym, activity room, bar, laundry and shop with activities, games and a daily social hour to take place.
Five projects are already under construction in Phuket, Thailand; Bintan, Indonesia; Beruwala, Sri Lanka; Gold Coast, Australia and Lijiang, China.
A further seven are being planned for Brisbane, Australia; New York, USA; Japan, Seychelles, Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Lang Co, Vietnam.
“Cassia merges three of the group’s strengths, hospitality, design and real estate, to set the stage for the hotel residences of the future,” said Ho Kwon Ping, executive chairman, Banyan Tree Group. “The extended stay segment has been overlooked in recent years so we took the opportunity to innovate and create a hospitality product that meets the demands and needs of today’s travellers.”
The new Cassia brand forms part of the group’s expansion to reach 66 hotels, 117 spas and 115 galleries by 2017.
