High street fashion retailer River Island has announced its collaboration with Dutch/English menswear design Baartmans and Siegel for London Collections: Men, creating a Fashion Film and Design Forum capsule collection. Renowned for the use of interactive texture and sharp tailoring, Baartmans and Siegel focuses on luxury fabrics, producing designs that are accessible and distinctive. The 12-piece Design Forum collection will comprise outerwear and strong tailoring, with key items including a structured double breasted blazer in a high quality wool mix fabrication, and a versatile goose down puffa with reverse feature. Additionally, accessories and statement footwear will accent the collection, featuring petrol-effect snow boots as a key piece. To celebrate the launch, River Island will be presenting a film at London Collections: Men, in June (see DIARY dates), partnering with the design duo on a project directed by Ryan Hopkinson as part of the Fashion Film initiative. The film will premier alongside other films as curated by the panel, founded in order to support and develop film in the fashion industry. The collection will be available to buy in selected stores and online from September. Source: DIARY directory
