Singer & Fashion designer Gwen Stefani

Singer & Fashion designer Gwen Stefani London - Arwad Khalifeh World famous singer and devoted mother Gwen Stefani combines her love for fashion design and Japanese culture with the launch of a new clothing line. The superstar is collaborating with American brand Target to produce a line targeted towards little angels. The new children’s line is called “Harajuku Mini” (very cute) and is influenced by Japanese-anime style. Gwen’s two children, Kingston, 5, and Zuma, 3, usually sport an ‘adventurous style’, unsurprisingly similar to the type of clothes Harajuku Mini will produce. “The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed,” she explained. “Harajuku Mini is a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the super-cute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan,” commented Stefani. The 41-year-old singer has been inspired for years by Japanese style after first visiting the country in the 1990s. The style is hard not to love; classy, trendy, different and beautiful, I’m a huge fan myself. In 2004, Gwen designed and launched her first clothing line, high-end label “L.A.M.B” (Love Angel Music Baby); a favorite with top A-listers such as Teri Hatcher. The following year her love for Japanese culture surfaced as the inspiration for her second clothing line called “The Harajuku Lovers”; the brand was named after the style-conscious area around Harajuku Station in Tokyo, Japan. Kids are going to look truly stylish and cutting edge with this collection; the Harajuku Mini line will include everything from one-piece infant suits to t-shirts for adolescents and teens. And of course you can’t have your kids sporting couture around without accessories on, so Gwen is also designing backpacks, purses, watches and sneakers (to be added in January). Although the majority of her designs seem to cater to women, the collection includes male designs as well. “Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid’s clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices.” She said. Kids, get excited- Harajuku Mini goes on sale across the US on November 13th. You can stock up with the amazing price range from $3.99 to $29.99. A second collection hits stores in January.
